This delicious, creamy white bloomy-rind cheese is handmade at Fern Farm Dairy in Bungay, Suffolk by Johnnie Dickmore and his team.
Johnny has a herd of free ranging Montbeliarde cows. For most of the year, you will find their girls grazing freely on the lush and wildlife rich marshes of Stow Fen in the beautiful Waveney River Valley.
The girls are super chilled … they are not pushed to give to much milk – the Dickmore’s want, and have, a farm full of happy, healthy and relaxed cows who live longer.
We believe this adds to the fantastic taste of Baron Bigod cheese. With its smooth silky texture and a golden curd, with long lasting warm earth, farmyard and mushroom flavours.
